Room 07 · Ground floor · Private patio onto the garden
Patio Room
22 m² · up to 2 guests · 1 walk-in bath
A small room with a green door
The smallest of the seven, with the only private patio onto the courtyard garden.
Twenty-two square metres, ground floor, the only one of the rooms with a door that opens directly onto the small garden in the corner of the courtyard. The patio is just three square metres of stone paving — a small bistro table, two folding chairs, a planter with rosemary and a fig sapling that has been with us since 2021 — but it is the only private outdoor space on the lower floor, and on a spring morning it is the right place to drink the first cup of tea.
Inside, the room is one open volume with the bed at one end and a short writing desk by the window. There is no kitchenette in this room — the only one of the seven without one — but there is an electric kettle, a small fridge for cold things, French press and tea, and the breakfast service in the lobby is included for guests of this room. Most patio-room guests prefer it that way; the room is small enough that a hob would crowd it.
The bathroom is a compact walk-in shower, frosted-glass partition, the same pale marble and brass fittings as the rest of the building. The bed is a comfortable double under a low ceiling that we kept the original beams in; underfloor heating runs under the stone floor in winter. The room is quieter than the upper floors — the patio insulates it from the street, the garden absorbs the rest.
It is the room we suggest for a single traveller on a long stay or a couple on a short, restful one, especially in shoulder season when the garden is at its best. The hamam is across the courtyard, the lobby café is three doors down, and Çukurcuma Street is just up the steps from the garden gate. It is the smallest of the seven and, by some quiet margin, the favourite of the staff.
